The Last Demonic Days.
The Last Demonic Days. (6)
Matthew 2:16-18 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. [17] Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, [18] In Rama was there a voice heard, Lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, And would not be comforted, because they are not.
Over the course of these brief messages, we have been highlighting the warnings in Scripture against the heightened demonic activity that will prevail in these last days of time.
Now we want to look at the demonic forces arranged against the Lord Jesus Christ. Firstly there was the murderous attack against the children of Bethlehem. The demon possessed Herod in murdering the children hoped to include the Holy Child Jesus. Next Satan desired to destroy the sinless, impeccable pure, Christ of God in the wilderness over a period of 40 days.
Throughout Christ's earthly ministry, He cast out many demons, but the enemy of souls, the devil, tried to discredit the power of God by implying that the demons were cast out by the power of Satan,
Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
At the Last Supper, Satan moved into Judas Iscariot, that he would betray the Lord Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver. Once more, the evidence of demonic activity opposing and hindering the work and ministry of the Saviour is growing and intensifying all the way.
Then the powerful demonic forces gathered in intensity around the Cross. At the trial of Christ, Satan desired to sift Peter as wheat, to destroy him.
Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Yet, Peter being enticed by the demonic forces, went on to deny his Saviour thrice. We, as believers, need to be very vigalent, lest the enemy get the upper hand and we loose our testimonies.
The intensity of demonic power arranged at the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, is such that Satan desired to remove every trace of truth that the Son of God ever came to redeem sinners from the cruel bondage of sin.
Then, as the apostles sought to preach Christ and Him crucified to a dying world of lost sinners, the demonic powers oppose at every opportunity. Today, as we move ever closer to the revelation of antichrist, the demonic battle around God's redeemed people intensifies and worsens.
As born again believers, we need to take these demonic powers very seriously and live soberly and righteously, with our lives hid in Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3)
