The Last Demonic Days. (4)

Job 1:6-8 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. [7] And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. [8] And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

The 'sons of God' (fallen angels, or demons) assembled together with their leader, Satan. Their mission was to afflict the Godly Job and bring him into spiritual turmoil and affliction.

Our passage brings yet another warning as to the solemn reality of demonic activity. This is something that born again believers need to be aware of in these closing days of time. The Holy Spirit of God brings a twofold warning as to the working of Satan in the lead up to the revelation of antichrist. First of all,

1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Many have read this passage and in process of time have become complacent, thinking that such an attack may never happen to them. Yet the Spirit of truth sounds the alarm again, much more loudly in,

Revelation 12:9, 12 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

[12] Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Job had a good Testimony before God and men, yet the attack of Satan came on multiple fronts. The demon possessed Sabeans and Chaldeans destroyed his livestock and killed his servants. A lightning strike killed his sheep and more servants. Then his family were killed when the house in which they were partying collapsed in a storm.

When Satan with his demons attack a believer, then that attack tears away everything that God has blessed them with. Job was brought very low and confessed thus,

Job 1:20-21 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, [21] and said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

When we turn to Job chapter 2, the demonic attack against Job takes on an alarming dimension. Satanic attention is drawn to his health, and well being, this is after he has lost everything else.

The demonic forces of evil reconvene to formulate a plan that could, potentially, cause Job to deny God.

Job 2:1-2, 5, 7, 9 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD. [2] And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

[5] But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

[7] So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

[9] Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.

Remember how we pointed to the double warning that the Holy Spirit gives about hightned demonic activity in the last days. Now we are learning how, when the believer can potentially loose every material blessing in this life due to demonic activity, we need to be prepared that Satan does not end the battle there.

Health comes next on the demonic agenda. Perhaps not everyone is aware as to how all this demonic activity is literally working out in these last days before the revelation of antichrist.

We will share this in our next message DV.

Blessings in Christ. Rev Mervyn Cotton.
