Daniel 10:13-15

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. [14] Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. [15] And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

The vision that Daniel had as he was beside the Tigris River was one of The Lord Jesus Christ. It was none other than God the Son which came to reveal the prophetic Word to Daniel the prophet. The Saviour was instructing Daniel as to what would take place in the last days.

As the Saviour was speaking to Daniel, He revealed the great spiritual warfare that was taking place. The powers of darkness were strongly opposing the prophetic revelation.

'But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia'.

This was no physical battle with the Persian kings, but it was a spiritual engagement between the spirit of 'Mystery Babylon the Great the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth ' and the Spirit of truth and righteousness. In this great warfare the angel Michael fought for God's people against the spirit of the Persian kings and triumphed Gloriously.

Daniel 10:20-21 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come. [21] But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

We see the great spiritual warfare, again as the prophetic Word is revealed: this time in Revelation chapter 12.

Revelation 12:7-9 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, [8] and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. [9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

This war in Heaven, (the 2nd Heaven, outer space) will prevail before the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Such warfare in the unseen realm does affect much that goes on in the world around us. Often God's people experience spiritual opposition as we seek to live and labour for God. Yet in a mighty way, 'the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him and delivereth them'

And so today, when it comes to the Scriprural truths regarding the second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ there are so many theories, ideologies and opinions that God's people become confused. The spiritual warfare is raging, seeking to conceal the Glorious facts of Christ's Second Coming.

Coming back to Daniel 10, The Saviour tells Daniel that after the Persians, the King of Greece will take control. We will follow this prophesy in Daniel 11.
